What drain installation involves
Drain installation is the work of running new drain lines, traps and vents so wastewater leaves a fixture at the right slope and speed. It is part of every kitchen or bath remodel, every added bathroom or laundry room, and every older home where failing drain pipe needs to be replaced.
A drain that is undersized, poorly sloped or missing a vent will gurgle, clog and smell no matter how often it is cleaned. Getting the layout right the first time is cheaper than fixing a quick job later.
Mesquite Plumbing installs drain lines sized to your fixtures and how your household uses water, built to local code. We plan the route with you or your contractor, install the trap and venting, and run water through every fixture to confirm the drain flows before walls are closed.
Remodeling contractors are welcome to call us in at the rough-in stage. We coordinate with your schedule so the drains are installed, tested and ready before inspection.
How it works
Our process
- 1
Locate the clog
We test the fixtures to see whether one drain or the whole line is affected.
- 2
Look inside if needed
A camera inspection shows roots, breaks or buildup and the right pressure for jetting.
- 3
Clear the line
Cable machine or hydro jetting, matched to the pipe and the clog.
- 4
Flow test
We run water through every affected fixture before we leave.
Questions
Drain Installation FAQs
Why do several drains clog at once?
When more than one fixture backs up at the same time, the blockage is usually in the main line, not the individual drains.
How often should drains be cleaned?
Most homes only need it when symptoms show up. Homes with big trees or a history of clogs may benefit from a regular cleaning.
