What drain cleaning involves
Drain cleaning clears the buildup that slows or stops water leaving your sinks, tubs, showers and floor drains. A minor clog can quickly lead to odors, standing water and backups, and a clog that keeps coming back usually means something is lining the pipe.
In the kitchen it is usually grease, food scraps and the odd utensil. In bathrooms it is hair, toothpaste and soap scum. Toilets clog on wipes and paper products, and main lines clog on roots and everything that comes from the fixtures above.
Mesquite Plumbing clears clogs in homes and businesses across the Metroplex, 24/7. We match the tool to the clog, using a cable machine for most fixture drains and recommending hydro jetting or a camera inspection when the same line keeps backing up. We test every affected drain before we leave.
If more than one fixture backs up at the same time, stop running water and call. That usually means the main line is blocked, and more water only has one place to go.
How it works
Our process
- 1
Locate the clog
We test the fixtures to see whether one drain or the whole line is affected.
- 2
Look inside if needed
A camera inspection shows roots, breaks or buildup and the right pressure for jetting.
- 3
Clear the line
Cable machine or hydro jetting, matched to the pipe and the clog.
- 4
Flow test
We run water through every affected fixture before we leave.
Questions
Drain Cleaning FAQs
Are store-bought drain cleaners safe for my pipes?
Harsh chemical cleaners can damage older pipes and rarely clear the whole clog. If a plunger does not work, call a plumber.
Can tree roots get into drain lines?
Yes. Roots find small cracks and joints and grow inside the pipe. A camera inspection shows where they enter.
